Well, I plan on becoming a journalism major, so mass communication is very important for my career and field of study. I think a major problem currently existing in our society is the lack of communication of important world wide issues that are presently going on. I'd like to propose the idea of creating a class designated to teaching high school students about current events that are happening. (Such as the war about to occur in Syria, giving students accurate and unbiased information about political leaders/presidential candidates, etc.)
My aim would make it a high school class, however, this website is for children;
http://www.dogonews.com/
It is still a good reference on how to potentially set up my website and on giving accurate information to younger generations.
Also, Time Magazine , National Geographic , and CNN offer websites for current events news to be given to students and children.
The tone I plan on using will be similar to that of the ones linked, serious and credible yet, fun and interesting for younger people to read. It will have a serious and educational tone but it will be colored and themed in a way that can hold the readers attention and make them interested in what is being said.
I plan on setting my website up in a way that offers my proposal/idea (potentially in an "about" tab, or something of the sort), then offering ways to implement it in another, and finally, maybe a tab or two devoted to what's actually going on. (this is just a rough idea, of course)
