Why I chose my historic photo.

1. I chose a vietnam protest because I tend to be drawn to historical events of the sixties. And I chose this one specifically because of the message it was conveying as well as I thought that, visually, it would be easier to put myself in the crowd of people.

2. My biggest challenge was to just make sure I got the angle and lighting right. I had to go back in the editing process and make the picture darker and black and white to match the original, as well as use the burn tool to make the shadow on my face darker like all the others. Also, I had to cover the girl that was originally in my place in a way that no one could tell that she was ever there.

3. I feel that it was pretty successful. I'm actually pretty happy with my finishing product and how it turned, however, I wish I would have made the picture of myself slightly more pixelated to match the original.

4. The two era's that I feel most drawn to are the sixties and things that are maybe more bordering antique with classic florals and wallpaper patterns, similar to that of the victorian era. (Although I'm pretty certain that's too far back for our yearbook cover)
